Britain’s Got Talent’s latest singing sensation Jamie Pugh has admitted that he is so shy that he has hidden his singing talent from many of his friends.
The 38-year-old pizza delivery man told Fern Britton and Phillip Schofield on This Morning that only “close family and friends” are aware that he can sing.
He said: “I have kept it very quiet, only people that know me…only really close, close people know that I sing. But there isn’t that many people who know that I sing.”
Phillip asked Jamie how he had managed to hit the final high notes during his audition performance of “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables, given that he confessed that he was “quaking with nerves” at the time.
A nervous Jamie Pugh wows the crowd on Britain’s Got Talent.

According to Pier’s Morgan, he has never received so many texts about a single act than he did about Jamie.
He has had more text messages about Jamie than he did about Susan.
Morgan, 44, said: “I’ve never had so many texts about one contestant.”
“We could all tell just what it meant to him to be fulfilling his dream.”

London, May 4 (ANI): Britains Got Talent star Jamie Pugh has in an interview revealed that just the thought of winning the TV contest leaves him quaking in his shoes.
Pugh, 38, who is a pizza deliveryman, panicked before his audition and wanted to walk out, but his loyal partner Donna Davies, 35, persuaded him to stay.
I wanted to go home, the Mirror quoted him as saying.
I didnt sleep for three days before and Im now on 40 fags a day.
This is going to sound really weird I fear success but I dont fear failure. Ive failed at a lot of things and I fear success because Im Jamie. Ive got to appear on a TV show and Im dreading it.
Im a wreck Im not a star, he exclaimed.

Jamie Pugh looks set to be a big hit in America, just like rival contestant Susan Boyle. Hollywood star Demi Moore, 46, posted his performance on Twitter, with the message: “So moving.
Teary again, wow!” In another message she called him “amazing”.
Within an hour, tens of thousands of people had watched Jamie’s audition online. A similar thing happened when Demi posted a video of Susan Boyle on her site.

THE audition of Britain’s Got Talent’s latest Welsh sensation had already attracted more than 80,000 YouTube hits last night – just 24 hours after appearing on the hit show.
Pizza delivery driver Jamie Pugh’s stunning rendition of Bring Him Home, from the musical Les Misérables, may not yet have claimed anywhere near the astonishing 50 million YouTube hits his rival Susan Boyle’s performance has enjoyed. But pundits say it has made him second favourite to win the popular ITV programme.
This weekend’s programme saw Pugh, from Pengam, near Blackwood, overcome his lifelong fear of singing in public to impress judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, as well as millions of viewers at home.
It established the part-time van driver as a firm rival to the Scottish spinster for the popular TV talent competition’s prize of £100,000 and a coveted opportunity to perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety Show.
Betting expert Karl Williams last night placed Pugh at 7/2 to win the show, with Boyle 4/5 favourite and Swansea youngster Shaheen Jafargholi at 11/2.
From the Mirror:
Nervy Britain’s Got Talent star Jamie Pugh revealed yesterday that the thought of winning the TV contest fills him with sheer terror.
Panicking pizza delivery man Jamie, 38, was all set to walk out before his audition but loyal partner Donna Davies, 35, persuaded him to stay.
“I wanted to go home,” says Jamie. “I didn’t sleep for three days before and I’m now on 40 fags a day.
“This is going to sound really weird – I fear success but I don’t fear failure. I’ve failed at a lot of things and I fear success because I’m Jamie. I’ve got to appear on a TV show and I’m dreading it.
“I’m a wreck – I’m not a star.”
But we’ve got bad news for Jamie – unfortunately, he IS a star.
More than 12 million viewers saw the South Wales valleys singer stun judge Simon Cowell and earn a standing ovation with a spellbinding version of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables.
“If you had asked me to sing any other song I wouldn’t be able to, because I don’t know many songs,” says Jamie.
Jamie’s first interview since his audition aired last night on Britain’s Got Talent.
